The Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low “University Gold” is a positively blinding colorway of Nike’s retro basketball and lifestyle shoe created in collaboration with Off-White and Virgil Abloh. Synchronizing with the opening of Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” exhibit at Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art in Summer 2021, the Off-White-designed “University Gold” colorway features a predominately monochromatic yellow construction. The perforated toe, mid-panel, collar, and heel are all dressed in University Gold leather. Contrast stitching borders the metallic silver Swoosh logo found on either side of the shoe and tonal “Nike Air” embroidery appears on the heel. In signature Off-White fashion, the Air Force 1’s nylon tongue tag has been repositioned to the side of the University Gold nylon tongue for an abstract, “do-it-yourself” look. A yellow plastic zip-tie hangs from the tonal laces. Black “Air” text is printed above tonal “Air” branding on the lateral side of the University Gold-colored rubber midsole.
